Build Your Own Brain
Scientists from the University of Florida have successfully built a brain that can fly a plane using brain cells from a rat. What they did was take these brain cells, place it in a petri dish, distribute about 60 electrodes over these neurons, and properly stimulate them to teach them right from wrong. Within about 15 minutes, these cells could keep a simulated high performance aircraft on route much like an auto-pilot.
I don’t see benefits for mankind from the understanding of how a brain functions. I see my next computer processor made from living tissue. I see my next bio-drive equal to a few terabytes of storage.
