I finally got the to see the image that will be my book cover for the Quake 4 Mods for Dummies book. It looks pretty good and those of you who know me from MODSonline will probably recognize the model on the cover as art that I have been using for different things for a long time.

My publisher is getting ready to send out copies to some of the gaming websites. The hope is that they will review it (well) and create some publicity for the book. I expect it to review well.

Also, my publisher wants me to do a podcast for the book. It doesn’t have to be long, but I have to think of what to talk about. Modding is a visual art. I have to think of something to talk about rather than show. I’ll think of something. hehe.

Says you. Last year I would have said that writing a book isn’t that big of a deal. It’s just a little time consuming. Well I am here to tell you that it’s more than just time consuming. It’s a lot of work.

I am just closing the final aspects of my first book to be published and in retrospect it wasn’t that horrible of an ordeal. I figured that a second book would equally as much effort so I went for it.

Now on my second book, I am realizing that I had it easy for the first. Due to delays and other problems on behalf of the publisher finishing in time for each deadline was a breeze. They kept pushing things back so I had an extra week here and there. Not so much on this second book. I am here wondering how I am going to get all this written in such a short time.

Know that putting a book together is more than just writing. Sure, I have to get a little over 80 pages written every three weeks. But I also have to take the necessary screenshots, relate thoughts between chapters (that haven’t been written yet), and edit existing chapters. All this while also handling two other jobs.

Perhaps that is the kicker here… I am trying to write a book while handling two other jobs. I think I should consider a break after all of this. lol.

Oh - and stay tuned for release information regarding book number one. I was told it would be coming out in about 3-4 weeks. Although, I don’t see how the publisher is going to get everything completed for that release. Thank goodness I am not a publisher. ha.
