neighbors suck and so does my lawn

I’m gonna go and check out a new house later today. I don’t like my neighbors where I live now. They are …. well, they’re jerks. I’ve been keeping my eyes peeled for a new house that we can afford.

The trouble would be selling the house we’re in now. It’s a good house, however the market is down in this state. No one wants to purchase a home it seems. The good part of this is that I might be able to find a house for a good price. The bad is that I might end up with two houses… that’s a good way to go broke. lol.

I’m also thinking again about fixing up the lawn. Last year I was going to fix the lawn and I made several calls out to different people. They were going to come by and give me an estimate on giving me grass again. Right now, I have a good mix of sand and weeds. It’s been like that since I moved in and I think it’s time to change that. The problem is that no one ever called back with the estimate. So instead, I bought a nice TV.

Now, I want better chances at selling the home, so I want grass again. I figure I need to kill all living things in my ground first (excluding the trees). Then I can ship in some new soil to cover the sand. Finally, I can plant new seed. Sounds easy, right?

Well, it’s not that easy because none of this is cheap. I really thought it would be cheaper. I would need about 94 cubic yards of soil and soil costs roughly $28 be yard. That comes out to quite a bit of money. I also think that grass seed is expensive and I’m afraid to tally that bill up.

Now have you ever seen a 94 yard pile of dirt? I’ve seen 20 yards and I thought that was big. I can picture 94 yards covering over my house. lol. And I think I can rake that out over the yard by hand? Yeah, I’m crazy enough to try. hehe.

We’ll see. I’m not sure what to do quite yet.

Holy crap! That’s expensive. My garden is pretty small so it wouldn’t cost that much. Well it wouldn’t cost me anything… I get to squat here for free. lol.

My parents were looking at a new place a while back but the house prices here are crazy. I think that’s why so many people are renting out their houses where I live. They eventually earn the money and seeing as my town is pretty commercial, lots of business going in and out, more people want to live here. Only 30 miles from London as well so that’s only 20 mins on the train.

Hope you find a house you like!
Hey! This was a good way of getting away from my revision for a few minutes. You should blog hourly. lol.

    HOURLY? hehe.
20 minutes from London sounds great. You’d probably get a great price for your house… but that would be offset by the high price of the new home. I have the exact opposite problem.

Oh.. and that house I went to look at is already under contract to be sold to someone else. I could make an offer, but it wouldn’t be a really low offer so it’s not worth it.

    I’ll just keep looking.

hey foyleman, want my house, it’s to be sold. it is 85,000 2 story 3 bed 2 bath, both bathrooms remodeled. new roof and windows 4 years ago. quiet neighbor hood. and a 2 car garage in the back.. So are you interested…? PS we put new carpet in this summer.

Holy cow that’s a great price. A house like that here would start at 400,000. Too bad I can’t move just yet. I need to wait until the company is ready to go out to California. I’m looking forward to that.

The house I have now is 1 story, 2 bed, 2 bath, everything new 6 years ago, 1/3 acre of land for about $280,000. See the difference in pricing? Crazy. hehe.
