So, last night I was watching a movie when there are 3 loud bangs on the door. I jumped up and looked out the door window and saw no one there. Must be some stupid asses playful kids from the neighborhood.
I could have caught the whole event on camera… if only I had the cameras running. I figured a couple months ago that I didn’t need to keep the security cameras running when I was at home. That would save the computer, electric, noise, etc. Now I have an answer to that question why the cameras should be running.
What did I do to make sure it didn’t happen again last night? I hid in the shadows hung out in the front near the street for a while. A local kid rode his bicycle near me when I asked, “Have you seen any other kids hanging around the street tonight.” This nearly made him piss his pants of course. He wasn’t expecting me there. He said he would tell me if he saw anything going on and then rode off.
I suspect he went and told his friends who were walking further down the road. A few houses down from me, they were having a family gathering. The kids were hanging out in the street and I think they were involved.
I decided to take a walk and let them know I was watching. As I walked by I commented, “evenin’.” I figured such a comment would let them know I was around and freak them out enough to head indoors. I was right.

I was fooling with my new telescope today in the daylight. I decided to take a picture for you to check out. This is the Meade LX200R 12″ telescope. Now I just need to keep toying with it so I can find something interesting to photograph for you. The problem is that I have too many trees… as you may be able to see.
And as for visibility conditions here…

Quake wars, the official game, arrived at my door today and I just got done playing it for a while. I played it for a full round against the computer because this way I know that other user’s aren’t screwing with me affecting my opinion.
Sure, I had a chance to play the demo when that opportunity first came about. I tried to enjoy it.. I really wanted to enjoy it. However there were many things that still needed to be fixed tweaked. So, I figured that I would wait until the actual game was released before formulating my final thoughts.
Well, the game is here and so is my opinion. The is crap not as much fun as I was hoping. There are several inadequacies with the game that make it less fun that I had hoped. I played one round and now I am ready to go back to Battlefield 2142… who did it right.
What’s wrong with the game?
- controls seems to be incorrectly placed on default
- vehicles have poor physics and poor steering
- the chatter is annoying
- it sounds like a screwed up game of Counter Strike (sound effect)
You know.. that’s enough. I don’t want to completely rip the game. Perhaps I just need to play it for a few weeks and get used to it. BUT WHY SHOULD I HAVE TO DO THAT!
